Novak cutoff compatability issue?

I just intalled a BNIP Novak 2s lipo cutoff in my rs10. I was pretty excited until I go to run it and the second I turn the truck on the lov voltage light is on and it cuts the throttle. I have balanced and charged the pack to 4.2V each cell, and it still does it. I figured maybe I have a bad cell that I can't tell, so I put my 3s on it, and it is exactly the same problem. Has anyone tried running a novak cutoff in their rs10 and had an issue? Maybe it's a compability problem with the esc.
