Default My Gmade R1 RedCat

I have really enjoyed watching and learning from all of your builds and figured I would repay with some pics of mine. Its by no means a comp rig but very fun to run around the yard.

axles - RS10
chassis - Gmade R1
tires - Panther Cougers
Links- Top RedCat, Bottom Axial Bent
servo - Tower Pro MG946R w/ aluminum horn
motors - 390 RedCats
knuckles Ax10 Venom alum
rear lockout Me
body - axial xc-1 until I decide on a body to pick up
radio - flysky 2.4ghz
Battery 8.4 3800 mah (heavy!)
By the end of the week it will be on 3s lipo with an Outcry esc and still need to paint the R1 panels.

Yea I really like the look of the R1 chassis. The wheelbase is about an inch over but longer shocks and some derlin I will set it up better. Thanks!

custom length links could help. maybe even shorter rod ends and mounting the lower links on the screw holes closer to the middle of the chassis.

Just a few ideas.

Default Curious

How come you have the lighter electronic components on the lower tray and the heavier battery on the upper tray?

The 8.4 stick pack I was using was to long to fit in the lower tray. Believe me I would have if it would fit. But I just got my Outcry esc and will be running lipos.

I had a feeling it was a clearance issue, but figured I asked.

Did you use stock lower links as the upper links or the stock upper links?

Great looking rig! how do the shocks work now that they are more vertical? did you have to change the springs?
The R1 always seems a bit of a packaging challenge when installing the components to achieve a lower CG; since it was not originally meant to be a MOA, I think that is why the battery is on top?
