| 2.4 radio from 1:24 sumo crawler
has anyone used the radio from the sumo crawler. i see its a 2.4 and it has the same controls for the steering. the thing i am not sure about is if it can be taken out of the sumo by itself because on the other sumo trucks it is part of the circit board and not separate

Well, on redcat's website, you can get the 2.4ghz radio that would work with the RS10. Personally, I think it's pointless due to the cost. You could get a nicer radio for cheaper (the hacked version of the flysky gt3b). Unless you just have a sumo crawler laying around and want to try to use the radio, I would look elsewhere.

That sumo radio would be okay,BUT its gonna be alot of effort to be used with any other type of reciever, wouldnt be able to bind with another 2.4 rx, I would look into the flysky 2, 2.4ghz got mine for 19.99 from hobbypartz, even went back an bought the flysky 3, 2.4ghz for 29.99. excellent radios for the money . |

| 2.4 radio
The redcat sumo micro crawler radio works with a redcat 2.4 receiver. Instead of buying a radio kit get the sumo crawler and a reciever, then u have a decent winter toy too.

| thats what i was thinking. My apt is a little small to run the rs10 in and have any fun. Do you have any idea the range on that tx/rx. It seems odd that they would put the 2.4 in the indoor crawler and a 27 in the rs10. The 2.4 radio on redcats site is 60 bucks and the sumo is only 80 and i want to keep the rear steer i dont go to comps and it is useful sometimes. thanks for the replys!

1/24 scale, and they're $99.99 on redcat's site. I've seen them for as low as about $85 on other websites. It's a good idea in theory to just buy a Sumo crawler and spare receiver. The issue with that I just noticed is actually finding a 3 channel receiver for the thing. I found 2 channel receivers fairly easily, but my quick google search turned up nothing for a 3 channel.

i was thinking that i would just swap the radios. the 27 should be find on a 1/24 scale anyway unless the rx is smaller and there isnt room for the 27 rx on the sumo

swapping it out would be fine and all except for minor issue. the rx and the esc are combined like in he losi micros. You would have to get a separate rx to use with the tx.

| I bought the replacement 2.4 radio from the sumo and it came with the rx and tx. I bought it because my 27 stopped working and I got a pretty decent price (seems that the price has gone up some since I bought mine though). It has the same functionality as the 27 with a much farther range. |
