| RS10 XT as a comp crawler?
I have an RS10XT. Has anyone seen one used as a comp crawler? could I mod it to be used in sportsman class? Thanks in advance, M. |

can't use it in the sportsman class (at least not around here). the sporty class is for shaft driven trucks, no dig and no 4ws allowed. since the rs10 is a MOA rig it would have to run in the 2.2 pro class. i don't see why you couldn't comp with one. they seem to do pretty well.

I've heard of a few guys using the RS10 in comps. and with good success. I think your ok in Sportsman, you may need to remove the rear servo and lock out the rear steer.

You can use it in comps, you just shouldn't expect it to do as well as Bullies, Bergs, and XR10's. Spend time driving the rig, taking care of things like servos, diff pins, etc... as they break, drive more, change things like shock positioning, wheel weight, center of gravity, etc... drive more, and so on. One thing that really helped me out with setting up my rig was reading through comp builds in the other moa sections, because you can use a lot of those same fundamentals on the RS10. Another suggestion is to either spend $20 for a star so you can see the classifieds, or wait until 30 days/30 posts so you can browse the classifieds. Then start shopping for things like electronics and a chassis. I was really surprised how much of a difference a good chassis makes, because you have a lot of options with adjustability. You don't have to go out and spend a ton of money on a chassis. I just picked up a decent MOA chassis for my cousin's RS10 the other day for $15 on the classifieds. |

I run a xr10 chassis with my Redcat. This thing will crawl almost anything you can get the tires on. Not thread jacking I hope, but here are a few pics. |

You know I bought mine as kinda like an entry try it out and see how the wife handles another hobbie rig..... Well wife's ok with the crawlers so I was like score! Time to buy a gmade! But then I did a few modifications like trimmed the stock tires, added droop to the shocks with 15/40 oil, made a quick delrin battery tray and added a hi torque mg servo. This thing will work a ax10 and can easily keep pace with a wraith on the rocks. So I think im goin to be making a sleeper rig and do delrin lower links (I'll make a thread) with new tires servos and steering with 540 motors and it should do fairly well in entry-mid level comps
