Default Starting my rebuild, RS10XT Bronco

Got my frame rails in yesterday, didn't get much accomplished last night though as my drill went dead after the 3rd hole and i couldn't find either of my chargers. i at least got some temporary cross members in.

before:

bare frame:

this will, for now, be built with the stock electronics and motors. at this time the 390's do all i need them too. it will get new shocks, looking at the g-transistions, i really like the look. tires and wheels will come later on. i will get the links laid out this week and then this weekend i will start putting the cage together.

The frame looks great. I have been thinking about doing something like this to mine. I will be watching this build.

Hey Doc, honestly cringed scrolling thru the photos of the bronco getting dismantled. That truck was one of the first I saw and said "awesome, I want to build something like that."

Looking forward to seeing more photos of your new plan evolving. If it's anything like the original, it'll be great.

Another night of progress, i think eventually i will build shock towers, not sure, will have to see if i can make these work for now. i may pop for the G-transitions before my next big crawl in April, they are only 50 bucks a set on ebay. the travel is not what i have before, but the shocks where also mounts to the lower links and works on a different angle, it;s pretty good and the i think as i work on lowering it down more, the travel will get better. right now i am fighting coil bind with the pen springs, really not the best way to do it, but good enough to get me started on the cage.
this maybe the last update til this weekend, i need some tools and parts to move on, screws are a big one, i will have to hit some shops Saturday and see what i can get locally. getting more rod ends this weekend and will be modding the links as needed. all in all, i like how this is turning out.

Your doing a great job it looks badass! A shorter shock will give more travel, on my jeep I went from a 100mm stock shock to a 90mm way more travel.

looks good doc-really like the frame rails, lol! i also noticed you clocked your upper link mounts on the axle. that's one of the first mods i did to mine, gives you a lil more adjustment options! keep up the good work. can't wait to see the cage work!

I may end up clocking them back to allow me to move the link mounts further apart, that may take some of the stiffness out.

Ahhh, I see what you did there. didn't catch that last night. Good thinkin. I was also thinking of spreading out the links on the upper axle mount. Experimenting to see if I get less side-to-side swing, and better motor clearance. I'm waiting on some new ball joints.
