Default Pajey's Epic RS10 Build

Well I'm starting a thread for the rs10 since I'm starting to mod it now. The cat is mainly for my son but we swap rigs and it's lots of fun with more people. SOOOOO here goes, a lot of yous probally saw my homemade chassis thread for the cat which is based off the ugc fastback/viper. At the moment it's only a roller sort of just need to make some links up. Everything electrical is stock except for the servos I run the stock lnc one up front and a hitec 685 or something is the rear. Here are some pics a little hard to see because of the super clean work bench as always .

Stuff to make the links

Thanks, yeah the cog will be a little high but that's easy to fix with shock mounts ect. And the clocking isn't final but tthat's about where it'll be. I want to get the lowers mocked up then start to look at the cog while doing it. I'm thinking maby blue links would be cool. I need to get some bolts for the links and a few rod ends and stick it together. Can't wait me and my dad are going to straddie for the weekend/Aussie day and it's going to be the first time with the cars we go there all the time but it's gonna be a blast....if I get the car together.

Definatly one of the nicer home brew chassis I've seen. I vote use all the colors for the links , but no matching color per set haha.

Thanks man, I need to clean it up some more with the dremel but I like it. I'm for now just gonna do blue links but I'll keep your opinion in mind( I'll go rastafarian on everyone). I've mounted the shocks next to the link mount as it was a lot higher with the Inc shocks on it. Just making the links at this very moment so will get pics once it's all done. I've countersunk the screws now and have the height and wheelbase sorted.

pajey,
looks good... keep up the fab work!
.... i was expecting your work bench to be a little more "beat up" because of all the up grades & fab work you do!!!

Thanks man it's an organized mess. I have the front uppers cone but am going to do more of a rough look on purpose that sounds like BS but the time to make them perfect I don't have atm so... yeah. But the blue looks good I'll get photos later.

Well she's now a proper roller, I've got the links made and shocks remounted and remade the rear upper links mount its not finished and will not look so straight as I'll cut it like the front and clean it up. It's all rough at the moment it all needs to get sanded and cleaned up but I am super happy and I hope you guys like it.

And some stuff that just got delivered

The pics don't give it enough justice I don't like to show off but it really like it. The batteries are awesome the smaller ones are for the crawlers but i can use the bigger ones too but there manily going to be for my summit. I would definatly recommend for people to make there own chassis it's quite easy and is really cheap. Dj you live over here in OZ I just went to woolworths and bought some cutting board it's not super cheap but lasts ages and is reallt strong. I was going to use my old fish filliting boards but there really old and have gone brittle as they all do so just buy new stuff. The screws that hold it together are actually timber screws from bunnings they work really well. You don't need flash tools either, I used a jigsaw, hacksaw, drill and a dremel. I could have used my drill press but was too lazy and it worked out well. I'll admit I've lost a bit of flex but done some small twicking and got more instantly so I'll get some more but I don't want the same as original anyways.

I have a friend who is fabricator by trade, with a lathe and mill in his shed. We have both made ally links for our crawlers and have some plate to make my chassis, we have also sold some of our link kits to the lhs for store credit to by upgrade parts. Let me know if you want to upgrade your links from plastic to ally and we can work something out.

The batts are 800mah and 1000mah at the moment I haven't ran these particular ones as I just got them but I've ran the same size and got about 10 minutes for the 800mah and 17 minutes for the 1000mah but it depends on how you drive, if you go full throttle everywhere you'll get a lot less runtime.
