| My build attempt
I got my RS10XT in December and this it what I have done so far. I read and read in this forum unfilled my eyes burned and then I read some more. Thanks to everyone that has added their ideas and mods they are very helpful. 1. I changed my dif pins I used a 2mm allen wrench cut to 12mm to replace the soft factory ones. 2. I tried cutting the stock tire foams to help with the factory tires but that didn't help much so I removed them all together and that was a big improvement in traction. 3. Next I lowered the body by 1.5 inches and had to trim it to clear the upper links. 4. I added lights (I like lights) 5. I ordered a 2s 1300mah lipo and a low voltage alarm then built a battery mount on the front axle. 6. I ordered new servos because well the stock ones suck. I used towerpro mg945's 7. With the big battery out of the way I moved the ESC down to the lower tray and cut the upper tray down just big enough to hold the RX and the antenna. Just to keep it up away from deep water. I don't go in the water but you never know. 8. I locked out the rear steering to give that a try but I'm not to sure I will leave it this way. All these things have made my RS perform so much better than stock. Thanks for all the ideas I wish some of them were mine but I have stolen them from everyone here. I don't know what my next step will be. I'm thinking tires but ill know when I get there. |

Looks nice. I got my rs10 for Christmas and haven't gotten that far yet. I ordered new rims and rover tires so hopefully those come in soon but definitely get yourself some new tires

So why would you consider putting steering back on the rear??? I hated it. Coming from the 1:1 world I found it totally whack to keep a line as I "saw" it needed to be ran. Just my .02. Glad to see another RS10 out there though. |

Also I just have did the rear lock out Sunday and have not had much time to run it this way. Right after I did it I went out to give it a try and the battery in my radio died. I got a few hours of sleep (I work 3rd shift) thinking I would run it that evening and low and behold it was raining. So I will run it a while this way before deciding. | |

Looking for a little advice. I'm think of saying good by to my RS10 and getting a Venom Creeper. I would like to give a try with a shaftie. Any thoughts? |

I own both. both are good entry level rigs, the creeper is a bit more. main thing i have found with the creeper, weight kills. I have blown several axle shafts on the front. it is also prone to pinion failure, but that can be fixed with a drive shaft up grade in most cases. the creeper has very little in the way of specific upgrade parts. HR makes lock outs, C's, knuckles, and a few companies make diff lockers. other then the lockers there are no internal axle upgrade parts made, you can mod other shafts to fit though. Hit up the venom sub forum for more info. I am moving my bronco to SCX10 axles because they can handle the weight and power, but i am starting a new build on the creepers axles with a much lighter rig. The transmissions are pretty bad ass, low geared with a bolt on dig option.

Thanks for the info DocWolf I've been looking in the creeper format for a while now. There is just something that draws me to that rig. |

I added front weight to wheels yesterday. I used the idea found here http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/redca...ghts-rs10.html It seams to add a good bit of weight. I don't have a scale so I can't tell you how much. I can't wait for the rain to go away so I can give it a try. |
