| RS10 Pinion/Gear Pitch, Motor, Battery Questions
I bought a couple of RS10 axles for a custom build. I need to know what pitch the gears are so I can buy the right pinions. I think I will be using the standard size motors. If you have any specific pinion reccomendations (brand etc) please let me know. Also I see that some guys are using 11.1v lipos. Why the higher voltage? More wheel speed? Is it worth it? Thanks for your help!

The gears are mod 0.6 pitch and you can find the 8 tooth and 10 tooth pinions on e-bay. I don't have any other brands to throw out there because I still haven't bought a rs10 but I plan to very soon.

Thanks for the info Chopfather. I'm having trouble finding the correct pinion. If you get a chance, could you please post a link to one on eBay so that I know exactly what I'm looking for? Thanks again for your help! I really appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure I just searched redcat rs10 on ebay and I found them. I'll try to post a link if I find them again. You should check out the I just bought a redcat rs10 thread also. there is alot of good info there, I've read through the whole thing and it convinced me that I need to buy a rs10.

| Re: RS10 Pinion/Gear Pitch, Motor, Battery Questions RedCat Racing - Best Nitro / Electric RC Cars, Trucks, Buggy, Crawler have you tried them? they have the parts you can get 8 tooth or 10 tooth from them 11.1v will be a 3cell lipo but you might need either a low voltage cutoff or alarm as well as a new esc or two the stock redcat esc might not stand up to the higher voltage on ebay you can get all the metal gears that include the pinion too just look under rs10 in toys radio control |

The higher the voltage of the battery, the more power and wheelspeed you'll have. There are quite a few guys on here who have ran a 3s lipo on the stock electronics just fine, but the electronics aren't rated for that voltage. If you try it, do so knowing that they could fail and have a backup plan.

Robinson Racing .6 mod 13 tooth with Holmes Hobbies BR-XL esc(water-proofed) with Holmes Hobbies 27 turn brushed trailmaster. Inexpensive to replace. Lots more speed than stock motors. (My 540 motor swaps finished.) Fast enough with stock 2000mah nimh. Haven't tried my flight power 1345mah lipos yet.

just stepping upto 2s lipo will provide bettery power and performance than a nimh. and it falls under the power rating on teh stock ESC. just get a chap cut off. I also suggest never using the power switch ever. the stock ESC has a ground point that is in extreme proximity to the power circuit. shutting off with the switch can cause it to arch and thus burn up the ESC. just unplug the battery.
