Parts are starting to roll in I picked up my skid plate from the mail today and my lipo alarm from a couple days ago. I can't wait for the shocks as they will change the looks and performance of the whole truck but this is what I have for now http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...82c15ef63e.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...bab409be00.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...df18e222f6.jpg

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

a person can get old waiting for parts to arrive.

this is why you need 2 to 4 cars so you can play and tweak on something as you wait

So my shocks have been taking there time getting here! Should be in soon though. So I started making my lower mounts for my shocks. Started as a fence piece http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b4678a482e.jpg now it's this!http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...7ca8017cf5.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...42e6f0cdc5.jpg let me know if ur thinking of doing the same thing and wanna know how I did it

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

looks very good. the shock seems to have plenty of clearance. it even looks like you got
good clearance on the tire.
when you get all 4 made you can flex it too see if you have any clearance issues

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

After a lot of fileing, sanding, buffing I got this. It is a lot better then before. It still has a little white strip in the middle but it was near imposable to get and it is more obvious in the picture then real. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...ee15981887.jpg I'm hoping to get the last 2 done in a couple days so the truck should be standing soon. Hope u guys have been liking the build and sorry for the slow progress.

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

So I have all my mounts done. For extra clearance I cut out an angle on the and of the bracket http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...09dc71ae13.jpg also I have got my massive 120mm shocks in and I'm loving them. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a5735c7f37.jpg here I compare them to stock 100mm shocks http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...84be52aa42.jpg after I got everything together I'm liking it so far! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...00cb42733b.jpg my next upgrades are going to be tire/wheel's I want good preforming tire but also tires that kinda look real. Also I'm looking for bead lock rims. If u guys have any suggestions of what u like plz lemme know!

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

I have mounted my flat irons and they look pretty sweet in my opinion. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...aaecb95cdf.jpg also I have the body all mounted and for a rs10 it looks half decent as a try to be scale truck http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...f3c03353c1.jpg I want to do something with the front bumper. I'm not sure what to do with that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...9eac9e9a31.jpge

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

don't know how well it would work here, but one person attached 2 strips of aluminum, one on each side of the chassis
from back to front to simulate frame rails. he was using the original chassis so I cant be sure of the clearance
with your chassis.
looked pretty good.

yours looks pretty good too all put together

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

I took it out for a short little run today and it preformed great in my opinion. I am very impressed with the results, the battery's I ordered did not come in and I got a refund. So I was running a really big battery. I shot a few pictures before cleaning it off so here they are http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...dcd2346039.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...9a876fc842.jpg sorry for the bad pictures, I didn't think about taking any until the end.

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

I went to a local hardware store and picked up some haywire, it worked not bad for weighting the wheels it doubles the weight of the wheel roughly. I didn't get any pictures because it's pretty boring. All I did was wrap the wire around and put a bunch of electrical tape around after to keep it in place

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

haywire?
what is used to tie up bales of hay?
if so, not all that heavy haha must have taken all day wrapping

aaaah the pleasures of country living

could not find stick on wheel weights at the local tire shop?
they are about I/2 inch square pieces of some lead alloy with two sided tape on them
used to balance aluminum wheels.

solder would have worked but the cost might have made that not worth it.

the haywire will work just fine though a pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of lead

Freitas118 03-07-2016 08:13 PM

Re: Redcat rs10 on r1 chassis

Yeah I used haywire haha, it was 5$ for 15 meters and I used about 13meters total for the front wheels, it took a while but it wasn't to bad

I took it out for a short run today and on the icy snow it did very well, even though it was tough getting traction http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b67a2c42a6.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...6335095e85.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...c37c307553.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...66cb09322c.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...1006f17100.jpg
