| Faster motor and steering knuckles for the Everest 10. Faster motor and steering knuckles for the Everest 10. I haven’t had the chance to drive it very much, but right off the start I could tell it’s very slow. Yes, the low speed is great for crawling, however I want more speed. My total goal is to make an Ultra 4 type rig out of it (not too fast however). I want a good mix of crawl speed and running speed. What is the motor or turn that you would recommend? What gear do I need to mate it to? Also, what knuckles are a direct bolt on that allow for better turning radius? I want to keep the part prices on a budget btw. thanks |

for more turning angle it is the dogbones that need too be replaced with cvds or universals. axial has both and they might easily fit. id recommend the universals. be a good project for you Everest guys knuckles have very little to do with the amount of turning, there might be a steering stop that would need to be addressed though. better knuckles wont hurt though changing the c-hubs and knuckles both would be better. |

You can do some clearancing on the knuckles to gain a little steering, but if you go to far the dog bone will come out and snap the c-hub. Get some Universals like, Cabron said and then you'll be able to get a lot more steering. Check eBay for aluminum E10 upgrades. Should be around 40 bucks for knuckles and c-hubs.

I was going to use a 550 and couldn't due to any motor longer than a standard length 540, won't fit. A 17-21 pinion [48p] will bring up top speed.

I ran a 550 motor in mine no problem. Standard motor is a 60T I believe. 35T seems to be a popular choice. I run one in my scx10. Replace the esc with a hobbywing wp1060 and upgrade to 3S with a 35T motor and it will fly. For steering angle there is a small notch on the knuckle that hits the screw head of the c-hub as you turn full lock. It acts as a bump stop. Cut it off. Then fit cvd axles. While you're at it read all the other threads and fit an axial iron cross locker in your diff centre. You will need to do that anyway if you fit scx10 style cvds.

Thread I made about it some time ago. I ran mine like that with the notch cut off and stock axles with no issues btw. Just remember to adjust your end point settings so you don't destroy your servo. Steering mod |
