Default Redcat Gen8 #6 55 Ford

So after I saw the axial 55 Ford body I knew I had to have it. Not the truck just the body. Most people think I'm crazy but I really like the redcat. I got the updated axles, housings and skid.

I dig it!!!

My son has an Axial SCX10 Deadbolt and I am really considering the RedCat Gen8.
It looks decent out of the box and a few simple mods will go along way.

What do you do for the bed?

I picked up the bed as well. I just haven't cut that out yet.

I really like them. They remind me of a mix of the trx4 and the Axial.

If the bed like the UMG10 body, that means cutting about 50 pieces and drilling 1000 holes. That part will not be fun.

The Ford looks like a great choice on there, look forward to seeing how it comes out. I picked up a Gen 8 chassis kit on Black Friday with no real plan for it and could use some inspiration.

Actually more pieces than the UMG10. All cut. Let's say my hand hurts from cutting lol. there's 6pcs for the box lol.

That body would lend itself well to an aged patina finish.

Nice work.

Thanks. I'm not sure yet. I was thinking about it but I usually run them until they are scratched up and then go to work making it a farm truck. Still undecided but I'm sure it will happen.

Ooh that's a good lookin' Ford. Definitely a body worth a build. Is it the standard 12.3 WB?

From the Vaterra to the Redcat, it's good to ride the dark horse.

A video of how I got the body to fit. Was pretty easy.

Yep, flip up for the win. You could mount a pit light on the inside of the body that turns on when it is flipped up

I've thought about that. Never done it but I thought one of those small ones for under the hood of a car that has a tilt switch. I think they run on watch batteries.

I don’t know how much light they throw, but could certainly be handy

Figured out how to use the stock bumper. I got the interior installed and rock slider I made out of some old axial blazer sliders. I also swapped to KLR mtx tired in the class 1 size. The body kit was missing the v8 emblem on the grill so I will have to print something. Just about ready to go.

Still not finished yet but I had to take it out for a spin. I'm editing a video now but it looks good and works good in the snow with the KLR mtx 4.19" tires. I have All the Axe editing upgrade and it turns sharper than my other ones I haven't converted yet. Lots of fun.
