Default Finally delivered!

I ordered my Gen 8 a few weeks ago. It finally came. My first upgrade, the LED light kit, arrived a couple days before the truck. I also received my battery charger. Now, I'm just waiting on the batteries...dur. I blame the slowness on current events.
I already have a list of other updates, starting with a new radio and receiver. Next will be tires and foams and servo. I'll post as I go if there is interest.
I'm just getting into the whole RC hobby thing. This is my first non-walmart rc vehicle.

Got mine a few weeks ago - also my first non-Walmart RC anything. Before I used up the first charge (seriously) I stripped it down and painted it... then ordered wheels. But I still like the orange. Such a cool truck right out of the box.

I usually wouldn't choose orange. I like the blue, but i think the orange is the better choice for the Scout body style.

The stock tires are not too bad once you address the foams. However, we had 2 of the wheels come with cracked hexes right out of the box so be sure to check those. I would also invest in the RER11939 Axle housings as they are much stronger than the basic RTR version. Also if the bump steer bothers you that much look for the TRX4 RCWORLD servo horns on ebay as that will eliminate that issue. The one other thing I feel that is crucial is the front lower link mount kit from SSD. The reason I'm saying use SSD is because none of the other ones have a recessed pocket to stop the mounts from working loose and when they do your steering will be all wonky.

Other items to consider down the road.
20kg servo from amazon make sure it has red white and black wires and not orange red and brown. There seems to be a quality difference.

Hobbywing 1080 with Holmes Hobbies trailmaster
Updated skid plate from the Axe version
CNC transmission gears
Hoovo 3s 3200 mah from amazon
Robinson Racing #1717 pinion gear

One other thing do not fall for the club5 steering products as they have proven to not do squat for the steering other than cause issues.

Thanks for the info, folks. I've been lurking about to find reputable parts and such.

Sad thing is, I haven't even really been able to do much with my new hobby, but that's for a different thread.
I did get the LEDs installed. And changed the servo... and the ESC.....

I'm hoping to purchase a trophy truck next. Hopefully around Christmas. I think I may want to do a kit. It's all up to budget and time.

What are you waiting for? We just added 5 more miles on ours yesterday I know life gets in the way sometimes, but it is a great way to get outdoors and make it interesting at the same time. I was going down some stuff yesterday while balancing on the front bumper.
