Well, I just ordered a pair of Integy 55T lathe motors. Guess I'll be calling ZNO AGAIN... |

| Re: RS 10 XT motors
The choices of good 380/390 size motors are extremely slim. Not to mention, very few of the ones that are available have actually been tried in a RS10. I don't know of anyone who has tried the traxxas 380 motors in a RS10, or a crawler at all for that matter. If you opt to go that route, you're taking a chance of the motors actually sucking. A 540 motor is worth the cost and modding for the power they provide...or you could just stick with the stock motors and toss a 3s lipo in the mix for more power. These days the 540 swap is stupidly simple...you buy the motors, buy the big boy kit from ZNO, and assemble it. You don't have to worry about modding the axle housing yourself or anything, really. You guys have it made these days, as far as mods and parts availability goes for these rigs. When I got my RS10, I was one of 3 people on this entire forum that had one, there was no aftermarket, and everything had to be figured out by trial and error. |

i myself wouldnt buy the zno kit if/when i decide to swap to 540's, i would just cut the housing and make a plate out of 22 guage sheet and sandwich between the motor and axle housing to help strengthin it... to keep the motor as close to axle as possible and away from the lower links

I hear a lot about the zno 540 conversion kits here. Every time I try their websight there is nothing there about the conversion. Are they still in business?
