Default Ratchet Strap

I had a little free time today and made one...Here's what I came up with. It's partially working but fully movable, It would be fully working like a 1:1 but I made the crank gears a hair too small and now I can't get it back apart.

It's made out of aluminum and two small pieces of steal wire for the rotating shaft that holds the strap.

Enjoy!

Thanks, It was fun making it but I really didn't have anything to base it off of so it was a little tough...I have to admit, I'm overall pleased with it.

It is slightly larger than scale. When I was making it I tried to get it as small as I could but still have it movable. Any smaller and my eyes would explode from trying to make those gears..

Thanks, I had a request from someone that was wanting something to tie their rig down to the trailer. They didn't give a specific type of item, Just an "adjustable strap" and this is what came to mind. It wasn't too hard to make really, Just time consuming and I had to be VERY careful when cutting that aluminum.

On a scale of 1(easy) - 10(hard) I would say this is about a 7 or 8, But well worth it in the end result!

thats deffinatly an 8 for it working man and u should make the strap that you just pull to get tight since it isnt a 1:1. i use the pull to tighten straps on my dirtbike and holds it good plus those would be easy to make with your talent.

I was just thinking today. "Has anyone made/or has tried to make a scale rachet strap?" Because I was going to...until now. Nice job.
Mine would have involved mostly silly putty and paper clips.
