| Does 3racing winch "like" (or support) water?
Hello I have just received and fitted/mounted one of those fabulous winch but I would like to know if it is waterproof or not. Can I cross and go through clear water with the winch fitted on my bumper? Of course I will not use it during being IN water... but I may use it just a few minutes after to save my other rig stuck in mud for example. Thank you |

its a really good idea to water proof the pcb. Other than burning up a couple of those mine has been ok with water and pulling from under water also |

It's a DC motor and some gears. Water might wear the brushes a bit faster but that's about it. RPP has replacement motor/geartrains for the winches. |

They should be ok for short term use underwater, but with any dc brushed motor, you will notice a shortened life span of the brushes forsure, as well as some corrosion, and its not generally recommended lol The PC bpard should be at the very least sealed up. WD40 or something similar before and after taking the winch for a swim will help some too.
