You can use "Tiger Wire". It's at any craft store.

You can also use picture hanging wire that they sell at all the dollar stores. Once you take it home chuck one end up to your drill and tie the other end to a chair and strech then give it a few spins with the drill and it looks perfect!

I've seen nice looking scale cable on E-bay, but I'm always leary of ordering from Hong Kong. I've not seen a vendor on E-bay from the states yet. The thinnest bike cable you could find would be derailleur cable, and it would still be way too thick and stiff to spool onto a scale winch. Picture hanging wire? I don't know, it seems to me it would not unspool smoothly once its in the spool, the metal is too soft. Once you spooled it on it would be permanently coiled like a spring? I like the spiderwire fishing line idea. Fishing line is designed to be spooled and it's lightweight. It would have to be line for little tiny fish to not be strong enough to pull a 1:10th scale truck. If it looks like "scale" cable it would be the ticket... |

Yea, definitely check out Kenny - this is the best looking solution yet: The "scrimp" is an excellent solution, it will probably protect the fairlead from damage if the cable is accidentally retracted too far. Plus it just looks 100% better than any other cable crimping attempt I've seen. Rated at 26 lbs, strength should not be an issue for 1:10th scale trucks. Is the hook shown here the same as what you'll offer in a package deal? If so I am definitely in. A good looking and functional setup, available from a good member here. What do you know, it's a best-case scenario for a change... |

With notions of bullet-proof performance and images of black widow spiders firmly in mind, aggressive anglers took to the product like predator to prey – which is exactly what Spiderwire helps you accomplish on the water. With Spiderwire, you’re armed for the take-no-prisoners battle, and ready for the fish to strike. And they don’t get away. not the old school fishing line. this stuff has zero stretch, and youd better have a knife to cut it. stren has some thats yellow and made of kevlar. 1/10 scale rc truck 10lbs-15 max. 50lb spiderwire has same dia as 12lb monofilment. anyone that fishes knows thats less weight and more line on you reel. or rc winch in this case.

The hook in my picts is the hook I will offer soon with the package for a few extra bucks. I'm thinking about $2.50 more.
