Default What kind of dye are you guys using for your tow straps

I see same pretty awesome tow straps that you guys have made and i am just wondering what kind of dye you are using to get them such brilliant colors. And where do you get it?

Thanks

any fabric dye should do the trick. or just buy the material in the color you want.

(i've seen the thread he's refering to, someone used white shoelaces and died them orange/yellow)

rit dye is the most popular, getting hard to find in my area, wal-mart or any department store should have it, usualy in the laundry detergent section, good luck. (you can dye plastics with it aswell. white plastic, and some chromed plastics will take a dye)

just look at walmart or almost any store for the neon shoe strings, that way you dont have to dye them

yellow high lighter marker on a white childrens shoe lace. when the high lighter fades a little it gives the tow strap that "weathered " or "used" look. the smaller shoe lace gives a very scale strap look. you dont end up with a piece of string with a hook on the end trying to convince everyone its a recovery strap,

I found some at a Shoppers Drugmart in the detergent/bleach part...though it was called "Tintex" same crap though...Lol. It's what I used to dye my grey Slash and Revo chassis black...worekd AWESOME.

I had to ask an employee where it was...I passed it like 3 times...it was on a low shelf on an end aisle..
