Default Sail servo for a winch

I was at my local hobby store the other day and was telling the guy I made my a winch out of an old servo and he thought that was pretty cool. Then he told me that I could have just used a sail servo and how it can keep turning. Has any body used these for this purpose or know if thats true? That would be a lot easier then having to tear apart the servo and getting it set just right so it won't creep.

hitech had some with 300+ oz. Futuba had one with 183 oz that I could get for $54. I would consider it when the oine I have goes out.
