Default roof rack cross bars like thule and yakima

for the "feet" I'd use some 1/4" styrene rod (maybe .25x.25) then for the bars themselves I'd use some .25x.125 rod. That would be strong enough I'd think.

The uprights, if you used the 1/4" you could shape to get the desired affect.

Someone could probably sculpt something fairly scale out of styrene.
But I think it would be toast after a couple of roll-overs.
Cross-bars will be aluminum, with delrin uprights. And it would have to use
a backer plate on the underside of the lexan body to help keep the hardware from ripping thru under high impact situations.

So many irons in the fire right now, not sure when we can get these going, but they are in the works. Among many other styles of this type of thing.

The tamiya tundra has those parts in the box, you can try to find the part tree that has them. I have them and can eventualy take some pics of then if needed.

If the rig stays on its feet, you'd prob be fine, but too much roll over would chew up the styrene as these would stick out pretty good.

Someone could prob mill the feed out of black delrin.
Yakima's would be easier to fab, as the bars are round not rectangular.

Position on the roof where you want, then use something like a 2.5mm screw up through a hole in the roof, into a threaded hole in the delrin, that bottoms out on the crossbar, pinching it in place.

Maybe something like this foot and bar, without quite as much detail.

What about simple alum triangular pcs filed down. Cross alum rod through holes in them, and a small screw up through the roof?
Maybe a second small screw to look like the handle/lock?
