Default Integy Billet Machined Winch Teardown.

Ok before i post a pile of pics on someone else's thread. I'm going to do a tear down pictorial and hope to show some comparisons so everyone can see this new item.

Just out of the packaging

The hook has a gap right around .090 so you would have some specific spots for it to attach. It looks machined, Which also makes it look forged. Pretty nice. Deans connector for size reference.

Free spools easily

Cable is coated, typically they will delaminate but seems quite strong so far. The crimp is quite hideous, so have to figure that one out.

Heat sink slips off easily

really trying to get a good close up of the motor

base is stamped steel

lil comparison shot, although i dont know exactly what the other winch is. someone remind me please. prolly Rc4wd

difference in length of the mounting plate, on this winch anyway

Pulled the rollers to access the fairlead mounting screws

Looking better already

This alum fairlead is a little long to mount up, i think it is a Rc4wd, cant swear to it though.

The drum and structure are nice.

The motor/gear box then simply slides out of the carrier

Ok just found a replacement rc4wd motor and Gear box. Looks quite identical to me.

Well, a little difference. and the Rc4wd was dated, which reaches for a
little quality IMO.

let me post this up then i will try some more testing.

i want to repost what HEYOK told me about there controllers.

Depends what winch controller you have. The standard one is six volts max.
The HV will do 2S Lipo
The relay controllers will do whatever voltage you are comfortable running to your winch.

If you need more details, there is a link in my sig.

That's a nice looking winch you have there!

its a better looking option in the $40 range. i bet it performs just like the rc4wd one.

Nice write up! I will deff be ordering one to play with. Even if it blows up like the RC4WD one and becomes a bumper ornament.

I was curious about this winch. Thanks for the write up. FYI the winch you're comparing it to is a RC4WD Bullydog 9300xt winch.

Very true, you would have to machine the bearing spud off and drill that end to receive the gear box shaft. You would also have to drill the drum for a cable anchor considering the old cable anchor would then become the setscrew for the new gear box shaft.

Oh yeah, the drum and housings on this are very cool to look at.

I haven't messed with it too much yet but i am going to look into how difficult it would be to mount the drum assembly to a servo.

Thank you very much, it had been along time since i purchased it and had completely forgotten. Then i found that replacement gearbox they had sent me and kinda put it together.

Gotta get the thing mounted and decide how I'm going to power and control it.

i was just looking at china suppliers and these motors are available 12v.

12V DC Gear Motor-FF-N20GB

This type of micro dc gear motor at 12v is widely used in the electric locker, motor toys,

This N20 gear motor is a motor with a gear box with the following reduction ratios: 10:1, 52:1 100:1, 150:1, 298:1. 340:1 for your choices

The kind of dc gear motor is widely used in motor toy, medical equipment, automatic door-lock, hairdressing equipment, health-care articles.

Thedimension of the motor :diameter=12mm, motor lenght=12.2mm, 15mm, 20mm, 22mm

Please see the following motor drawing for your reference.

Okay Will the big question is can we put a upgraded motor or beef it up somehow? It looks cool not we just need it to be able to dead lift a 10lb rig.

The more i read how weak this is on 7 volts the more i think it is a 12 motor and needs the power. To beef it up i really think the double ended motor would be a good option. Then run it on a speed control so that the voltage could be varied and not full on or off would help with the lifespan. I was lifting my 7 lb rig just fine. the real load comes when your front tires are under a ledge and you don't have the control as with a 3 pos switch, full on or off. Its tuff, Ive done the servo winches, then you have the creep, get all crazy buy a programmer, open up the deadband to loose the creep then you loose the brake. What i would like to do is get a hold of some of these engineers and help them tweak there products that little bit to make them really work. I haven't had a chance to mess with the two more reputable winches, the claw, and the MSD to see what silly things they suffer from but? There are tons of motors out there, I was looking at manufacturers which have 100ea. minimum orders, so i needd to find a supply house that carries them individuals to try out. There are numerous gear box combos out there its just taking the time to get one that is right for size and power. So?
Another complaint is this silly heatsink. A 12mm drill and a bandsaw or sander and you could make a simple box style cover for the motor to remedy that.
Does Integy have any contacts in the U.S.? That would be cool to open a line of comunication and help them develop version 2.

I've had great luck using The Robot MarketPlace & Team Nightmare - BattleBots & Combat Robotics Information for gear heads and individual motors. They have several styles of motors/gearboxes that could work as alternative motors for these winches.

Remember to run one with reversed polarity so they don't work against each other.

No updates as of yet. Dumb life getting in the way. But I'm sure all of this is doable, oh and sure reverse the polarities!

That new one is huge???? Never be able to decently mount it centered with the motor hidden.

Where's the motor specialist? We need Holmes to make winch motors for these things.....

It sure is pretty,,It would take two of them for enough parts to do two motors ,Then a Heyok winch controller with 3s and you might have more than looks ,,,,
