| fiber glass leaf springs
has any body tryed makeing or using fiber glass leaf springs because fiber glass is stronger than lexan and if thin enough it is more flexable too.

lol i assume thats sarcasm. the whole damn body is composite. well early days were true fiber glass, now there a hybrid composite as you mentioned. same as my SS, only metal on the entire body is the rear quarters and B-pillar |

yep. Z28s have steel rear quarters, hood, and B pilliars, everything else is composite. SS adds the fiberglass hood, leaving only the rear quarters and b-pilliar as the only steel on the body. correct, C5s and C6s are 100% composite. |

the fiberglass might be good if you make them right, if they can put them on 1:1 cars, then we should be able to do the same

I have thought about this quite a bit. I will be using stuff called "woven roven". It is weaved like carbon fibre, but allot stronger. I have built a 1:24 micro pan chassis for Iwaver racing and it is strong like hell! I found if I seal off the edges with CA, it is much stronger and does not delaminate.

well what about a bilayer crabon fiber with a flexy epoxy? we could have leafs as thin as the steel ones and that would have springy effect right? we could more fine tune the rate with leaf length and qty. hmmm. can you make the "eyes" in CF?

| sure you could make the ''eyes'' by taking cf tubing and cut it to the right length and epoxy it on the to leaf.
