Default Beach Crawlin with the Honcho

Just posted a video of the Honcho crawlin' at the beach. Turned out pretty good considering there were 15-20ft waves coming in hard.
We had a pretty close call
The camera work is a little shakey due to the hard wind.

It's actually not that far. Only 2600 miles or so

Thanks guys! It was pretty hard for my camera girl to keep steady with all the crazy wind coming off the ocean. And we had to keep watching our back for the occasional rogue wave that comes in when the waves are that big.
Best time to run there is in the AM during low tide. There is a huge amount of crawling area that gets covered with water when the tide comes in. We were there pretty late.
If you look at Badgers King of the Bean video, you will see all the crawlin' area that's available when you are there at the right time.

you guys have some bizarre looking rocks. Some of it looks all organic like a spider web or some shit.

Definitely, but it looks like tires would hook up on them pretty well because of all the edges.

I really dig how you are just running the diamond plate portion of the flatbed. The plastic bars are cool but I like that you did something different than the rest Sweet video too!

Thanks guys! I really like the look of it as a flatbed too. That was Gatekeepers idea. I borrowed the idea from him.
Yesterday, I installed some of his tube side guards and one of his Bad Ass bumpers now too. He does really great work and I would highly recommend him!

Yeah, it looks pretty tripped out! Theres a part of the video that I noticed that it looks like a scream type skull in the surface.
That stuff is also an ankle breaker if you're not careful.

It's kind of like moab

Great video! I really like the way the Honcho looks w/o the entire rear tube cage. I may have to copy that.

I grew up in Santa Cruz, and the whole northern Cal coast has rocky areas like that. I sure wish I was into crawling when I lived there!

Yeah, all the coastline here up north has awesome rocks. I feel very lucky to live near so many Bad Ass crawling spots

Is that thing stock? How much weight in the wheels? Mine just flips over backwards if I try to climb to steep. I weighted the front pretty good but that makes descends tricky since it wants to endo all the time now. Can't get a good balance. Or maybe I am just a sucky driver.

I have 3 oz's lead weight in the front wheels. And, the wheels are Mayhem Engineering Badd8's and are aluminum, therefore heavier than stock. Also, since I do not compete in scale comps, I have the small 2S lipo strapped directly to servo. Gets the CG pretty low and puts more weight on the front axle. Again, this is not legal for 1.9 scale comps.

The foams were also wet in the video giving more traction and climbing ability.

As far as your driving goes, just practice. Practice, practice, practice.
And watch other drivers to learn driving techniques.
