| Searching Google Maps pays off once again!
Well since the weather and being busy for the first part of the day kept me from making it to Greenville this morning I was able to track down a new spot I had noticed while looking through the aerial photos on Google. I am partially addicted to Google Maps...I can't help it. In any case we left Greenwood a little later than I'd hope so it was dark and raining AND foggy by the time we finally got to this spot, but I was going to crawl...just to see if it was worth visiting with a group of us. Check out the pictures and let me know what you think. If see if you can figure out where it is...it's on the Broad River approximately 60 miles NW of Columbia as the bird flies...post up if you figure it out! |

DING DING DING!!! We have a winner...good spot Chris! It's called Neal Shoals Dam! It's right at an hour from Columbia, 2hrs from Sumter, and 2 hrs from Easley. It's gonna be worth the drive!

Yeah, that is a pretty sweet spot. We had planned on taking the NCRCC guys there for a comp this year...........it is a little out in the middle of nowhere.

Being from Sumter EVERYTHING is out in the middle of nowhere for me, LOL! The Zoo and Hanging Rock are the closest places to Sumter at about an hour to each place. It certainly makes attending events harder to do. I have to pick my battles carefully if you know what I mean, LOL! |

Love those pics Itty. I dont know if its the fog or what but the one with the spillway is pretty tight. Maybe I play too many video games but they kinda remind me of a missile site or something from the old James Bond game on N64.

Wow, the water is ALOT higher than it was when Bryan and I were there. There was some pretty sweet stuff down at the bottom of the waterfall that looks like it is all under right now.
