Majority of us have them, hardly used in most events though.. Its a good security factor to have before using a HOG or tow from a teammate. Basically just takes more time and effort to use but you don't sacrifice as much of a penalty (in our group rules). But it becomes extremely necessary in events like a TTC or Recon G6 where time is not as much of an issue!

The main thing you lose is the points. Most of these comps all the gates are posible but you may take a gate here and there!

I think Jon is talking scale points. You loose scale points for not having one or two. Which can be bad for you in the long run.

A winch won't be absolutely necessary, but it can save you some points.....if you have the time to spare that it takes to winch. Like Robert said you don't see it as much b/c we're on the clock.

Sorry guys I won't be making this one. I just bought another vehicle and have to get working on it to be ready for a trail run early next month. Sorcca comps weren't allowing 4ws or dig. Usrcca trail is.

Says in 2014 SORCCA rules you run dig or 4ws (pick one) in the class 3 only.
