Looking good Jeremy. How much weight are you running per side on the front end? It looks like you can possibley move the weights out a lil further towards the face of the wheel and maybe run a little bit less weight?

I cant remember exactly how much, but the slugs weigh 1/2oz each. I had not tried moving them out at all because I wasnt sure if the CF weight hangars could hold the stress. What do you think? With this rebuild I did also move the location of the battery. It is more forward and lower than it was previously. I need to get out my scale and see how each corner compares to see how the weight is balanced. I think you might be correct, I can reduce the number of slugs without much of a negative impact on CG.

I think you would be fine with spacing the weights out further. I'm running 6oz per side on mine and of course the weight of the delrin holders. So prob somewhere around 7oz per side or less.

Ok cool. I'll give it a shot. IIRC, my weights are about 8.5oz per side with the holder.

You are gonna learn soooo much when you get married and have kids. Most "toddlers" are learning how to walk at 1yr. My 3 y/o boy RUNS everywhere....which is about on par for this truck."thumbsup"

One good way to stunt the walking thing for a real kid btw, is to rent and RV, and drive them around the Colorado mountains about the time they start to show signs of walking.

I got everything buttoned up on this truck in time for our comp. It was a bit last minute (late last night) and I didnt have a single battery pack through this truck for our comp, but it worked well today. The new HR gears are a tad noisy, but I think they'll quiet down after they break in.

Here is a short video:

What pinions did you go with? What are your overall impressions on the gears?

JeremyH 02-24-2013 05:41 AM

Re: Ivory

14 in the front and 13 in the rear.

I actually like the gears. I only used the 2nd large gear, but I do like the reduction....and the fact that they are lightened out of the bag.

Now if you ever get the question "you ever take that thing off any sweet jumps?" you got proof.
