| Super Bully Light Weight Comp Axles?
Hi guys, What's your thoughts on the new light weight Super Bully axles? I bought a set of regular Super Bully axles last week, that was two days before the new axles came out. Now that I see they have their new light weight axles with a 65:1 gear box, I'm wondering if I should sale the Super Bully's? I have a buddy that wants the axles I have now, so I have them sold if I want. RC4WD has on their site that the new axles weigh 1.14lbs, the super Bully's I have weigh 1.61lbs. Would the weight savings and 65:1 gear box be worth the extra 80 bucks? Sorry guys if this is a newbie question, I'm new to the supers. http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...68a0102469ff59 Thanks, Mike |

If I didnt already have my money tied up in the original Super Bullys I would definetly be getting these. Just the 65.1 gearbox allone is worth it to me, not to metion the added weight reduction. In my opinion, it would be money well spent. |

The only difference in the axles will be the gear case, knuckles and link mounts. The tubes are already machined....just like the light version.

The only reason I bought some of these is for the 65:1 gear cases. I had heard the original bully's lacked in low end torque, so I just waited for these new axles. You can always go bigger on the pinion with these 65:1 axles, but with the originals you can only go so small on the pinion. Not sure if there is even much of a weight savings, as these have an extra gear in the case. I will find out though.

I was going to wait for these but I just couldn't wait any longer. I have definitely have no problem with low end torque using the regular gears. I am already bending the Hex pins . And that is after my first run. Being able to slow it down will be a good point for some people, but I like mine just the way they are |

I have a set of the v1 SB and ordered a set of the 65to1 light weight. Beside the 65to1 I thought i might be able to swap parts and have ether a wide or a medium width axle.

Well, it looks like I made a bad move guys. I sold my super bully's today. Then I got a email from RC4WD tonight updating my order, it says the LW super Bully axles are out of stock. I don't get why they didn't have that there out of stock on there site. Now I don't have any axles and RC4WD has my money for axles they don't even have. I guess you live and learn.. Sorry for the vent guys, I'm just kicking myself for this one.

That sucks. But I have learned the hard way also:?. It is better to have too many parts than not enough parts |

65:1 axels showed up, a couple oz's lighter, looks like the gear case is clocked more? The motor is moved higher and away from the axle, that's more GC & more room for the steering arm and the v2 cvd's allow for more steering, I have to just shave the edges of the knuk's& tubes. very nice

That's good to hear. I just placed an order for a pair of them. Looking forward to gettin them and building a sweet super class rig. I asked them if they planned to make an XLD version of the 65:1 and they said there were no plans for it. I want a wide rig, but parts being identical on both sides would have been great for keeping spares handy. Now I just need to decide which motors to get.....

I don't know what the regular Super Bully weighs, but the 65:1 axles weigh in at 1 lb 2.8 oz each (just the axle, no electronics mounted up).
