| Bully axles, 1/4 scale servos
Putting together my winter(before x-mas) build. Superjuice chassis bully axles 55t integy pro motors Proline 40 series beadlocks 23mm Moab (OG's) sidewall w/ losi rock claws My big hang up remains steering. Looking around i have hell of a time justifying 400+bones on servos. I want to run 1/4 scale servos. I know they do well on the clods with some creative mounting. Have any of you done this to your bullies? I have used some Hitec's on my clod axles before and they were decent but there seems to be an influx of china knockoffs that some people have good luck with. Does this sound like a solid plan or should i build a micro scaler build |

When I had my Clod I trying running the 1/4 scale servos.. They worked, but not as good as my HS5955TG Hitec servos. I sure did like the cost of the 1/4 servos better. Not trying to discourage you, they do work as long as you don't mind taking some time and making the mounts. You will also need to run the rig as light as possible and keep the tires as narrow as you can. Also pay close attention to steering geometry and make sure the steering is as smooth as possible. And, you should be happy with the end result |

I'm running 1/4 servos for now. check out the build thread Toytech's SuperBully You should be able to see the concept behind mounts, I don't have pics of mounts alone. All they are is aluminum from home depot with a 45-50 degree bend. I'm hoping to replaced them with 7980s in the future, they are a little weak with only 330oz. I want to build 8.5 Rover XLs but I know the servos couldn't handle it. |
