There was a huge buzz when Tamiya re released it and they've been out for a while now but i'm not seeing that many around. Are they all just being built box art and put on a shelf or what's going on here? Are they not being built? You would think they're everywhere by now with all kinds of projects based on them.

I think that $700+ buy-in is too steep for most people (it is for me). When I heard the Bruiser was being re-released, I was giddy like a little kid at Christmas... till I saw the price tag. If it was $500 or even $600, okay, but with a suggested retail of over a GRAND?!?!? No way. Used to be able to pick up OG bruisers for way less than that.

I would imagine you are somewhat correct on a lot of shelf queens, because it was alot of money. I've had mine out, and got it a little dirty, nothing major, its just that I have 20 plus running trucks and its turn hasn't come back around. Here's one shot, and the rest, I guess I will get them up in the other thread.. ![]() | |

I agree on the price being too high, i'd only get one if they were 350-400 bucks.Nice one you have bodean, looks more scale with black frame and axles. That's how i would do it too.

What is it about the new Bruiser that isn't good ? Have they gone cheap vs the original Bruiser ?

I got a crazy deal on an original bruiser but needed restoration so this is where its at so far... $700 is ridiculous for the new one. I've always loved the originals but never had one til recently. Gotta say the detail is insane Any recommendations on what it needs next? I'm thinking zombie hunter theme. I have an awesome very realistic looking zombie. Debating an exo cage?? ![]() |

| ![]() Not in about 11yrs there hasn't been, I built it waayyy back when the jugg1 came out. I actually cut up two juggernaut bodies to make it,and cut up two bruiser frames. Willg even remembers my crewcab dually clod body sitting on a stretched frame, rolling on imex clod dually tires. I had hilux axles under it(with the locking hubs), custom machined rims so the front was a single and the rear had duals, and made 3" tall leaf springs out of .050 steel shim stock. ![]() |

I guess many peeps keep it as a shelf-queen. I do. I ran it for a bit, found out how buttery smooth it shifts, but became anxious to roll it, ruining my pretty, glossy paintjob, that I am proud of, though it's just single color metallic red. ( I suck at painting, so, finally having a nice smooth finish was quite the accomplishment for me) Made it in a Mountaineer, though. Quite easy with the help of some de-smoked high-lift rollbars. Completely stock, so, no use of showing pics, me thinks. |
