I was wondering when or if this was going to happen. Started to think it wouldn't so bought a 2012 Bruiser to build a mounty not even a month ago and now look...LoL. Just my luck.

I've heard the Bruiser/Mountain Rider platform is sorta fragile and not good for scale crawling. That really bums me out since the Bruiser was my ultimate dream Tamiya. Does anyone think the Trail Finder a more durable scale crawling user or is it just as delicate?

I think the Bruiser can be a good trail runner with a few tweaks. One of them being front mounting the steering servo. The fragile axles and trans has since been upgraded on the re-re sent from Galaxy S3 |

Yeah I have a 2012 Bruiser I am building up and plan on doing the front mount servo. I also bought some RC4WD axle upgrades with front CVD or VVD axle shafts. Not sure what they call them on RC4WD...brain fart right now. ![]() |

Having three bruisers, they are more monster trucks than crawlers. I much rather build a tf2 for scale crawling than a bruiser.

It's a shame that Tamiya continues to bring a 3 legged pony to a horse show. As cool as the updated rere's are, they still fall short in the performance catagory compared to what's currently out there. Tamiya has the capability to do somuch more than minimally update 30 year old kits. Don't get me wrong, I'm a life long Tamiya fan but the updates to the bruiser rerelease was disappointing. The axle ratio should have been lower not higher than the original or at least kept at the 2:1ratio and the steering angle could have been increased or redesigned with a cvd style axle instead of the dogbone and cup. Just my opinion so don't get all worked up about how awesome Tamiya is. ![]() |

I made it into a Rc. The build is on the non crawler thread or check my profile for it. ![]() |
