Question Wheels??

Hey everyone. I have a couple of questions for you all.

Will 1.9 or 2.2 12mm hex wheels fit on the original bruiser? If anyone has pics of their rig with these wheels can you pls post some? I am not sure which way I wanna go? Looking for more scale/realistic?

ALso what have you done to get rid of the slop in the front wheels??

If the wheels will not fit what did you do or get to make them fit?

Thanks for your time.

You can put any 2.2 tire on the stock rims, but if you want to change the wheels, RC4WD makes a 12mm hex conversion

12mm Hex conversion kit for Tamiya Bruiser 2012

Pretty much any 1.9 or 2.2 will bolt on after converting.

Ok. Thank you. Yes I know about the tires. You answered my question about the wheels.
I am trying to find the right look/stance too. I just have so much wheel slop in the front, it's driving me crazy

QSRC, I assume it should work (hex conversion) on original bruiser? Thanks

The RC4WD 12mm conversion will only work on the re-release bruiser and not the Original bruiser. To run 12mm hex’s on an original bruiser, you’ll need to get the adapters off eBay and find a wheel that doesn’t have a lot of offset on it.

Would you have any pics by chance with wheels on w/these adaptors?

The only picture I have right now is of the adapter’s and rims I’m using on my bruiser. These was made by JPS and sorry there not mounted on the truck. I can take some pictures later this afternoon when I get home from doing family stuff.

Thank you. I am curious as to how far wheels stick out if any? Appreciate your time.
Also what have you done with the "slop" in the front steering?
Thanks for your time.

Here is some pictures of the JPS rim/adapter top left picture and stock offset bruiser rim bottom right picture. The closet rim to the same offset of the JPS rims, is the axial wraith rims.

What slop do you, the steering knuckle moves up and down or the wheel slop after you bolt the wheel on the knuckle??

The wheel slop side to side. My side to side slop is pretty bad. I have not done anything with it yet. I have had it for quite a while now and getting ready to take it all apart and reassemble it, lube everything maybe replace all the bearings?
Thanks for the pics. Doesn't look too bad. I really appreciate you taking the time to take pictures for me.

Your welcome. I upgraded my steering setup on all my OG and Re-Release bruisers to this setup. I got the mounts off eBay from Hong Kong and give better steering. I’ll see if I can find some pictures of the setup I’m using on google.

I got this idea from the Bruiser 101 at the top of bruiser thread.

I am definitely going to mount servo up front. I make servo guards out of aluminum or steel. Have a template made for them. Hopefully I will be able to start tearing down this week?
My slop is bad. Hold one wheel and you can "giggle" other wheel side to side pretty bad.

What size are those wheels/tires? Look like 1.9?

I used RC4WD hex conversion, comes with axle shafts for rear, front wheel axle shafts (the part that goes through steering knuckle), hexes and pins...you re-use bearings from Tamiya hubs in them. My wheels are 1.9 - with different offset hubs....front hubs are about 1/4 inch wider than rear. Rear hubs are 1/4 offset, front hubs are 1/2 offset
