| Quick TTR CVD question
My TTR CVDs have been on back order since before Christmas, so I have a couple questions on them and the installion. Do they use the standard 5mm E-clips that the regular Clod axles do, to locate and hold them inside the axle tubes? Also, can someone tell me what the outside diameter of the shaft is that passes through the steering knuckle? I need the measurement right where the pin goes through, where the wheel hub or drive hex would be. Thanks. |

If you get a set of the Ofna 17mm hexes, they are 8mm ID and then you could get some 17mm wideners and/or adapters and go from there.

Are they set up with the stock 12mm hex. The TTR wheel hex sits at the very end of the axle. I've got 2 different wideners that fit on the axles I have.

Well what I have is some Integy 23mm hex, 30mm wideners. They looked like they would work, so I bought them, but I was expecting to have my CVDs a month ago already. I hate waiting for parts! I just want to build the darn thing! Here they are.... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRTN4&P=7 Come to think of it, maybe I can just chuck them up in a lathe and enlarge the bore. |

no answer... so where can you buy the hex adapters to worth with 8mm inner bore? anyone? Seems like everything on Ebay has a 6mm bore. I don't want a widener. Do you just have to bore your adapters to 8mm and 'pin' them to work with the CVD's? That stinks Last edited by WRXronald; 03-24-2009 at 04:53 PM. |

I am pretty sure this has been mentioned a bunch...but pretty much all Truggy/Buggy 1/8 scale hexes have 8mm output.

Wow, old thread revived! Interesting because I didn't realize it was my thread from last year, until I opened it up, ready to help. I just ended up boring out the Integy wideners, in a lathe, to 8mm. Been working good so far. I really needed the offset so my wheels wouldn't rub the 4 links at full lock.
