Default My TLT Clod

I am building a Clod crawler based on a stock TLT chassis.

The stock TLT chassis was laying around in the garage after building my TLT tracer brushless.

I started with a tuber chassis, but thats not my thing i need a body on my crawler

(Tuber chassis for sale )

Orderd some upgrades..

and start building on my TLT Clod.

and changed it in to this

home made servo mount

Upgraded the shocks

The roller with body, and custom build body mounts

Changed the under links into massive 8 mm alu

Update with body

Some experiments with the shocks, i still dont know what the best solution is.

The beadlocks mounted ( just for the pic, there are no inserts )

The bearings

Mounted the bearings and two Team Atlas 60 turns motors.

parts that are orderd...

and two Towerpro digital servo's

regards from the crazy Dutch man.

wow that thing is sitting sky high!

I really like what ya did here, the only thing is the way you have the servo mounted. good job on the mount, but don't you think that it puts the servo a little far out front? I would worry about it slamming into rocks. Itegy makes a nice alumninum servo guard for the maxx trucks, I bet it would save you many servos...

nice job!

it looks to me like your upper links might be too long. I would try to shorten them just a bit to bing the axle back down to level. that way you would not be messing up your steering. but, it could also be the pictures. you are sitting a bit high, like mentioned above. if you do not bring you COG down, it will be roll over city when you are out on the rocks. Good luck with this build.
Steve

By the way, are those MOAB XLs on standard beadlocks? they look short

Looking good, have you tested it yet? i ask because i have 5 of my rigs on fm 40 ch acoms radio, and i bought some yeah racing crystals for my receivers and ended with a lot of glitching:neutral:, i only swapped the yeah racing ones for the acoms crystals and the problem was solved.

But what Proline beadlock are they on? they make 2 different ones, one for the MOAB, and one for the MOAB XL. It looks like you have the rims for the standard MOABs, not the XL's. One of the rims is narrower than the other, and by the photos, it looks like the combo might be off, but again, like I mentioned earlier, it might just be the photos.

I am not trying to give you a hard time by any means, but the only reason I ask, is because proline makes 2 different beadlock rims for 40 series tires. one is the Cheyenne, which is for narrow/narrowed tires. The other is the Commando, which is for the standard width 40 series tires.
The Commandos are 3.4 inches wide, and the Cheyennes are 3 inches wide. it might not sound like much, but it would give you a little more clearance under the axle. the good news is that you can always narrow them. I run XL's on proline standard rims. They were 3.5 inches wide, and I narrowed them to 2.75. with cut foams and weight, they crawl real nice. hope this helps.

They are the Commando rims, still stock.

First i will finish the clod, and try it like this. It is not that high as it looks ,It is even lower than a thundertech rage chassis.
