Default Hustler build

Hey guys ,gettin ready for this build .
I've got my chassis and wheels ,diffs should be here tomorrow ,cant wait to get started .

Ive got the Moab XL's with weld narrowed rims ,I want to put them together now but wondering about weights around the rim .

On my AX-10 I use 6 oz each front and 2oz each rear .

how much weight are you running with these wheels
Doing it the same way I assume ,stick on weights around the rim

I use 2 oz on each tire (pic), in the process of repainting wheels. and then some ghetto stack job of 2oz on front axle (pic). I just beat around the rocks locally. So not an ideal setup for everyone.

I figure I have about 16ozs in each front and about 11ozs in each rear wheel .

Too much ,too little ? anyone else use this much weight ?

Another Calgary boy huh?

Sweet.

I'm running zero weight on the back of my hustler, and about 6 oz per wheel in the front.

Any pics of your rig?

Good lord Calgary will soon be the super capital of the world and all based off hustlers lol. This will be the third super hustler that we know of now. I can wait to see it done.

I dont however have any recomendations for the weights though I just use stock proline star cut foam in the rear and no foam in the front so the rear tires will have a little less grip on them to avoid the rears "overbiting" and it seems to work very well. However I do have almost an extra pound in the chassis alone on mine providing that all of my running gear (transmition, motor, esc, reciver, drive shafts ). I would say just keep trying different set ups out just start light and add or subtract weight until the performance starts to decrease again and reverse the last change.

I'm still deciding on electronics , will try to post up some pics tonight .
My problem is I have a pretty cool course setup in my garage for my AX-10 ,all I wanna do now is crawl ,,lol

Hey Jugger , not sure yet on total weight but I guesstimate about , 7 pounds ?

Does that sound about right ? what is the average super weight ?

I guess I cant post pics yet anyway ,could someone post for me if I email the pics your way ?

Alright ,here is where I`m at .

Integy Alloy axles
Proline narrowed 40`s
Integy 23 mm wheel adaptors
2- Futaba s9156
Thunder tech Aggressor BTA steering kit
Traxxas big bore shocks
Integy V11 45t
Thunder tech adjustable motor mounts
Mud Slingers and Moabs
Rooster Crawler esc

Need to get a radio yet ,few things here and there
I cant post pics yet but would email to someone to host and post.

Was talking to a guy here and he said I need to open my rear can and turn it 180` and then put it back together ,
The info I find here says to just reverse the wiring

Any help with this would be great , I think he was talking about changing the timing ,,to avoid clod stall maybe .

Why don't you PhotoBucket or some other media place thats host pictures for you?

The way I look at it on that last part if you got motors that have ajustable timing like that use it.

But I'm a slight newb so you might wanna listen to someone else who has done that before

Just reverse the Pos and Neg. The timeing needs to stay at Zero. That or Flip your Rear axle to have the motor on facing the Rear like so..

Looks like I am going to make some new lower links for this rig .
The axles that I got have a bracket attached to them that gives you a few mounting points for the lower links but it doesnt work with the hustler chassis .

So I can either shorten up the uppers about 3/4"
or new lowers 3/4" longer

I would rather go longer ,should give me a wheelbase of about 19"

Any downfall to a longer wheelbase ?
