Default my 08 comp super cfnn

Well I started the year off taking a complete slapped together junk pile to the first comp. Not the way i wanted to start the year off but crap happens.

I started this build tonight and i think i am going to like it and it should make a very competitive rig.
The rig has a 20inch wheelbase and 4 3/4 to the skid.

Clod axles
55t lathe motors
8 tooth pinions
Dual mamba max ESC's
CVD's
XTM Thorns
Moab XL's
805 1/4 scale servos for now.
Castle BEC
CFNN Chassis
1/2 inch delrin links with revo rod ends
Traxxas big bore shocks.

I would like to think Kamikaze for hooking me up with the link material, shock mounts, and a few other parts

Badd i am going to go with the CC bec. With it being a conventional sprung suspension there was no need for rear weight for a change. So i ditched the reciver pack. I had to do the same on Tyler's truck. I am sure run times will go down but i hope to go to lipo so i can just swap packs.

I will have it at the comp on the 15th.I plan on giving Jeff a run for his money I drove it earlier and i am very pleased. All i need is a set of bearings for the hubs the axles had several busted ones when i tore in to them.

Yes the rear tires are dirty smart a$$ Timmy tried to make two of them match his buggy tires so i had to buy two new ones.

Not being a jerk mainly because you helped me get this thing together but i think i heard something kinda like that statement before. I think it went like this.

I dont understand how you think you can come to a comp and beat me with a truck that has only been together a week when i have been driving the same 2.2 for months. Remember that ?

I am sure you will beat me but i bet you will know i was there. If nothing else i will make you sweat a little.

Looks like he bought some black acetal (delrin) rod machined and drilled the ends.
Then used some 8/32 allthread to connect the Revo rod ends.

I have done the same exact thing except with 5/16" rod.

5/16" acetal rod is pretty strong that 1/2" rod will be the last thing to brake on that truck.

The revo rod ends are attached using 4mm set screws. The links look like they are going to hold up very well. The thing i like the most is that the links have a little give to them and then just spring right back and on top of that they are super slick.

Well i competed with this truck for the first time this weekend and placed third:-(

I must say driving this truck is a whole different world than the pimp cane that i am use to running. But i do like it it is just going to take some getting use to.

I went to 3cell lipo the day before the comp and did not add enough weight to the front axle to make up for the weight i lost by removing the knuckle packs but that is a easy fix.

The only things i think i am going to change is the weight in the front end,the servos(going to robot servos),drop the gear from a 8 to a 7 tooth pinion, and replace the rear motor that i fried by keeping it in a bind to long.

Here are a few pics.

Well i made a few changes to my rig for the East Coast Championships.
I switched the 805BB servos for a pair of Hitec 5990 servos because of the increased torque and smaller size and decreased weight.

I also swapped out the plastic tubes and knuckles for a set of allum. knuckles from JP and a set of integy tubes.

With the upgrade of the tubes and knuckles i was able to get Kamikaze to cut me a set of his cool axle weights! Man they are way better looking than a bunch of stick on wheel weights

I also switched out the old motors for a new set of 55t lathes.

I should have new 7 tooth pinions and flat axle stays in the mail by the middle of the week and this truck will be finished.

Here are a few pics.
