| tire weight
Lil help for a newb building a tube chassis. I'm using 40 series moabs on proline beadlocks. My wheelbase is 18.5". I was wandering if I should run weight in the tires. If so, how much in the front and rear. thanks

Here is my opinion for what it is worth. In my 2.2 i run weight in the tires actually alot of weight about 12 ounces in each front and 8 in each rear. However i do not like any weight in the tires on my super. On my super i prefer to keep the weight on the knuckles and out of the tires. The extra rotational mas seems to hurt way more than it helps. I run 3 sub-c cells on each knuckle I think they are around 2.2 ounces each so there is alittle over 6and a half ounces a knuckle and then i add about 5 more to that with lead. so a grand total of about 11.6 ounces a side in the front only. Know if your tuber is going to be droop then you will also need to add weight to the rear knuckles but if it is a normal spring setup just add to the front. |

I don't compete but I run 6oz per front tire and 40z per rear just to keep my shoes on the floor and it doesn't seem to slow up my wheel speed just my 2 cents.

i run a homemade pimp cane thingy with 40 series mudslingers and i put 1.5 lbs of lead pencil weight for fishing.it comes on rolls, just wrap it around the rim, tape it,to stop it from moving and put on your foams and tires,i only run weight in the front tires and it slayes everything.

I run 2.2 moabs with about 40 oz of bb's up front, and nothing in the rear. It seems to work well.

Losi Zombie Max tires on Maxmizer beadlocks with 3OZ lead in each front and about 8-900 AirSofts in each tire... Recently got more AirSofts so the g/f could weight up her tires.. She put about 1500 BB's in eah of her wheels and 1 weighs more than my front wheels with lead does... I'm going to add about 1000 more to each wheel here...;)
