A good Aftermarket chassis. With a low center of gravity and good flex.
A servo with good torque and a Nice ESC like The Novak Rooster or SR.
And some free hop-ups like cutting tires, waterproofing and again locking diffs should get you started. :P
What chassis would you suggest I get , and from what company ? Thanx for your help .

For a Clod chassis I'd go MTPA's Mach 1

A servo with at least 130oz of torque is needed, I use a hitec 1.4 scale servo in the back and xtm 175 in the front, its a bit slow but has lots of trouque

Here’s the sequence of events to build a clod crawler:

get a set of axles (off ebay or buy and sell forums)

get a chassis (if you want something all nice a pretty, get a gecko or mach1, if you don't care how it looks, get a clodzilla off of ebay) for a beginner, i recommend getting a clodzilla off of ebay, it's the cheapest way to go and you will enjoy it and you'll be able to upgrade later. I run a modified clodzilla II, and got second place in the utah competition. my trucks the one with no body on it.

this would have been great to start with:

lock the diffs

you'll need adjustable motor mounts and 9 tooth pinions (i like thunder tech racing adjustable motor mounts)

you need servo mounts, maybe start out with front steering only, then upgrade to four wheel steering later. this used to be cheaper, but is still a good start:

or you can make your own. this style sticks out the front too much and gets hung up on rocks, the MTPA mount is the way to go (sorry, no pics)

you need an esc and motors, super rooster and magnetic mayhems or integy lathe motors

a good cheap radio system is the traxxas tq3, which can be upgraded for four wheel steering later on.
