| 8-cell 2/3A pack only lasts 6-7 min?
I'm running an Elite 1500 8-cell 2/3a saddle pack, 4 on front and 4 on rear opposite the servos. I'm wondering if it's normal for it to only last 6-7 minutes. It lasted forever on my TLT. The batts get pretty hot too. I doubt the Z650M servos are sapping to much power, because most of you run WAY more powerful servos. So maybe the stock silver cans are too much for it? I'm waiting on another 45T lathe and motor plates. I don't think there's a dead cell, it charges to over 12V. Any ideas? Are these batts just not good enough for a super? If not what should I use? TIA.

Your silver cans combined with big tires and stock gears are trying to draw way more amps than the batteries can handle. The 45T motors are not going to be any better. If you want to stay with a Nimh cell then you really need to go to a subC. I buy my packs from www.cheapbatterypacks.com . For LiPo look at the 2200 mAh packs for Holmes Hobbies. The A123 2300 mAh cells are a good option too but may require a special charger. http://holmeshobbies.com/home.php?cat=22 Those would be my recommendations.

I was afraid they wouldn't hold up to the Super. That sucks, because 2/3a's are so much easier to fit. I guess I'll be moving the electronics to the axles and running SC's in the belly of the Hustler for now .

why dont you just run the sub C's under the knuckles? keeps the weight down low and on the front axle |

I'm running stock knuckles and wheels for now. It'll be quite a while before I have EVERYTHING I want for it....lol. Eventually that's what I'm gonna do though. Even If I got knuckles now, they wouldn't fit in stock wheels would they?

i got the jp knuckles, with sub c's, and they woulndnt clear my 40 series axial beadlocks, i had to run cpe 1" wideners. the 2" in track width. not worth it to me, riped it off after the first comp. went back to running CBPs elite 2000s (AAs) on the axle brace |

so the Elite 2000 AA's hold up better than the Elite 1500 2/3A's? I was thinking of these cells before, but figured they wouldn't be any better than the 2/3A's.

i have two comp packs both from CBP's 6 cell Elite 1500 2/3A (run 1 course) 6 cell Elite 2000 4/5A (run 2 courses) both packs have enough juice left to run twice that. |

Well, it's not just runtime. They were REALLY hot after the last run. They were still over 140*F after a couple minutes of sitting . (probably toasted them doing donuts on stock silver cans...lol) I'm kinda thinking of going LiPo and keeping it low in the belly. Then I won't have as much weight up high. I won't be able to put Sub C's on the axles, cuz that's where I plan on putting the Sidewinders. Nice and easy 4" of wire from each ESC to motor. I may go with one bigger 3S Lipo, or 2 smaller 2S lipos. Does anybody have experience with Elite 2200 2S or 3S lipo from CBP? They're a good price and should probably handle the load of 2 45T lathes. Anybody with suggestions and battery configs (1 2S, 2 2S's, 1 3S, 2 3S's) or advice on specific lipos would be great. How many amps would I pull with a super running 2 45T lathes, 2 Sidewinders, and 2 Z650M servos? |

| They only last 6-7 minutes without the donuts, and still get really hot. If they can't handle a little wheel speed then I don't want em. I'm going to pick up another 45T today, and maybe a 3S lipo. I just need to know how many amps they need to hold up to. 50A? 60A?

I went with a 2S Elite 2200 from CBP. It was a good price and should handle a lot. Should be here in a few days. The truck has been doing pretty good with the 6C 1500 NiCad I've been using, so I figured I'd save weight in the belly and go with the 2S. It has less than half the weight of the old NiCad pack. Now I just need some lead wieghts for the knuckles and wheels. |
