Default rod lengths

working on new project, need to know how long should my rods and cantilever rods should be, what it the standard length. Please help newbie.

it all depends on what your wheelbase is going to be and where your mounting spots are and are you going to make links your self

ditch the canti they suck and for suspension links they are usally 6-7 in long but no shorter than 5in

I'd shoot for 6" long links if yer wheelbase will be 15" or more. For a wheel base shorter than 15" I would make the links more like 5"- 5.5".
Canti link lengths depend on yer ride height and chassis design you gotta figure that out yerself. Canti's are fine and do the exact same thing as link mounted shocks but the link mounted shock will offer a little lower CG, allow the body to sit lower, and make things simplier.

For the most part it just really depends on the application. Links being around 6" is standard, mine are 7" but I have a big truck.

And griz; how to canti's lower your COG? They put the shock up higher than if they were on the axles? Plus you add in the weight of a lever, and more links.
