Default a few pics of my new 2.2" comp rig

Rebuilt my 2.2" Clod to make it more adjustable and hopefully more competitive. It sits lower than Version 1.0 with a more forward weight bias. The skidplate is cutting board material, nice and slippery. ;)

Hey hey - back off the Ford - have one myself and think it is a killer shell to run - that is next to the old CJ one Proline used to do.

CSR - like the ride. Question for you - did a quick search on the shave job but did not find much. Did you just cut and sand smooth? Thought I read somewhere you put a layer of jb-weld on as well..... Am I smoking something or am I on the right track?

Later,
Ed

I used a sanding drum on a Dremel to eliminate the bottom screw nub and original bumper mounts from the axles. I did smear a layer of JBWeld on the axles to beef 'em back up a little. They get thin around the screw nub when you polish it off. At the Green River comp, I tried jumping from one huge rock to another..... landed HARD right on the front diff. The JBWeld chipped off but there was no damage to the gears.

Recycled Emaxx parts. ;) Those are Trinity Maxx motor heatsinks. They keep the motors cooler and my capacitors safe.

It's basically the same. Same suspension geometry, only differences are the cutting board skid and top mounted body posts. Hated the side mounted body....... lost a dozen body clips while it was like that.

The chassis that won at Green River was my 3rd place Crawler Build-Off entry. ;)

I run 13 tooth pinions, perfect for Mashers or Moabs, IMO.

Great looking rig CSR, I hope it does well at the comp for you. I am thinking I should try the cutting board skid myself.

Here is a thread I did on shaving diffs. I didn't JB Weld mine and they held up for a long time. I am still using them but they have started to wear through. I would recommend the JB Weld also.

Painted up a fresh lid for the 2.2" Clod tonight. I didn't have enough black paint to do my usual silver/blue/black paint scheme.:-( Had to use what I had here since all the hobby shops were closed today.
