Default center link holder?

newbie question, what do you guys use to join together v center links? is it a solid aluminum rod wich you drill a hole threw the center? please help.

That's one of them being sold. It's a little more than a rod with a hole drilled through it. I'm planning on making my own. I'm going to frankenstein one using some parts out of an old Sassy Chassis steering arm kit.

lol....I used an old socket I had laying around, drilled a hole through it, and super glued it in the axle. Only popped out on me once.
