Default 550 motors

I just got pretty much stock Clod Buster earlier this week. It came with a set of 550 motors. He said that the frame needs to be modified to get them to work. What's so special about 550 motors and are they worth chopping up the frame?
Thanks,

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but how can I tell? They look like a closed bell 540 motor with a outside wrap. Is Cobalt a product line or where the motors are used? I've got a Dewalt 14.4 drill motor and it loos similar to it. But the Dewalt has wires coming out of the bell and the other ones have spades on the bell.

I'm sure they're just Traxxas Titan 550 motors. They aren't a crawler motor but would be fine for bashing.

You won't need to modify the frame, but you may need to trim the inner portion of the stock suspension ladder arm so the end of the motor clears it. It's likely going to be tight against it of you don't.

Cobalt is the magnets. But its very good for crawling because they are quite powerfull but still give you decent wheelspeed search up cobalt puller motors by holmes hobbies for more info. Take a picture if you can and i might be able to tell

I found out that they are out of a Power Wheels truck. He said he had them in a E-Maxx and they would pull the front wheels. Is it worth the effort to put them into the truck?
