I don't have a clod but I don't run bearing in my TLT axles. Bearing are for high speed cars. You won't notice much of a difference when going at crawling speeds.

It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!! I nuked 3 gearsets with the stock bushings. Switched to good bearings, got better run times, less noise and no more nuking gearsets.

grease the shafts and I think bushings are just fine. No chance of a bearing going bad that way.

I've run bearings in all of my R/C rigs, its cheap insurance. besides it keeps the load of the axle centered in the bearing where as an axle will wear into a bushing causing slop and requiring replacement. What ever you run is your decision, just as long as you run.

I have been running my clod axles for the last year with the stock plastic bushings. I have never replaced them. They are starting to show some slop at the outer axles now so they will be replaced soon. Having bushings in the axles has NEVER caused me any problems.

My opinion: if you like spending money, put bearings in from the start. Otherwise, run the bushings until they wear out and then replace them, either with more bushings or bearings.

I suppose my bushings did have a LOT of miles on them (original clod from about a week after they came out, with 1,000's of runs through it)

Yea, mine were brand new axles. I aint sayin therr is anything wrong with putting in bearings (and I love spending money for no good reason), and I aint sain that bushings wont wear out. I just think you can run them if you want.....however, like I said, I have not had any prollems. If I had prollems like you said you had, I might think different too.
