Looks great. Did you make your own adapters for those nylint rims? I like the realistic look. Nice job.

I used the nut from inside the clod gear houseing. I cut 1.75" hole on the back side of the rim to let the axle housing seat inside the rim. Look at the photo at the top of the page to see what I did to the rim.

Thanks for the info on the rims. A few more pic of this mod would be great. I"m running a Rockbull chassis and I am wondering if this mod increases or decreases the track width (from inside to inside) of the tire compared to stock clod rims. Right now clearance is tight between the rim and lower link. So far I fixed that problem by narrowing the rim but I like your set up much better.

Here is some photos of rim mod . I trim the sliver part even with nut. You have a good 5 or 6 turns with nut on the axle. Tinking about painting the tuber blue and silver. Last edited by mp3ranger; 02-05-2006 at 08:21 PM. |

Looks good. If you don't use the lower portion of your lower link mounts, I'd cut them at an angle to help keep from getting hung up on stuff. |

Looks cool. Only thing I would do is straighten out that front axle, with the caster like that it wont steer very well. Mike |

| Home made skid plate . 2/14/06
Here my home made skid plate . I hand bent it to close to axel housing. I cut off the bottom bolt lug to make the skid plate set flat on axel housing. So what do think of skid plate. off to make a 2nd one MORE PHOTOS HERE Last edited by mp3ranger; 02-14-2006 at 08:41 AM. |

Nice rig.. I'll throw out how I did my wheel mode for nylints. I used the inner hex like the others. But I didn't cut the back of the rim. All I did was grind down the outter lip or edge that prevented the nut to bolt down. But when you do this you have to use a washer (sorry don't know the size) and it worked perfectly. I have about 1/32 between the axle and the inner rim. I'll take some pics today to show it. |
