Default where to find pinions?

i would have posted in newbie, but i thought since it was clod specific........ sorry if that's wrong.

anyways, can anyone post a link for 10tooth pinions, 3.175 mm shaft diameter that have correct pitch for Clod axles?

matter of fact... what is pitch for gearing in a clod axle? 32?

thanks for any help....

thank you thank you.....

not really shown, but i assume those are for 3.175mm shaft diameter?

reason i'm inquiring... i'm considering making my clod a brushless crawler... i want to go cheapo first and get 2 brushless outrunners on ebay..... but i'm looking for the LOWEST possible KV motors i can get with small shafts. (i want to gear it really low).

do you know of somewhere i can find 2.9mm shaft diameter pinions with 32 pitch? that may be an option as well as i found what looks to be an ok motor for the job, 950KV but its got 2.9mm shaft.....

i also found some 740kv outrunners, but i'm pretty sure they are not up the task stator-wise.... max of 8amps just probably won't cut it for a 11lb rig. but that KV rating sure looked GREAT!!!

i'll search over at tower in the meantime... thanks again for the link!

Default ok?

i think this could be what i need......

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEW94&P=7

but here's the question... tower advertises this as the 3mm inner diameter....

so will this fit the 2.9mm motor shaft? or the 3.175mm motor shaft?

i think if i recollect from me r/c heli days that the REAL size is 2.89mm for the motor shafts on the brushless motors, and the pinions that actually fit those shafts are 'generallly' advertised as "3mm". and then the REAL 3.175mm shafts have pinions that are advertised 'generally' as "3.2mm"

can anyone confirm my memory for me? heh

1/8" is 3.175MM
The R&R 9 tooth fit standard 540 motors that have 1/8" motor shafts.
I don't know of any 2.9 32p gears, there are lots of 48p though. I have heard of people using a sleave on the motor shaft to fit 1/8".

Default well...

those DO look like great deals on outrunners... but i'm in US so shipping could be kinda a pain... and the info contained is less than informative....

no KV ratings shown. and shaft diameters shown (assume they are 1/8 since you mentioned that already).

you know the KV rating on any of them... specifically the Roxxy BL Outrunner 2824/26 looks to be just right for power/torque application. but is the KV low enough is the real question?

when you say 'sleeve'... do you have any clue specifically what they're using? metal sleeve? paper/cardboard type of sleeve?

yeah i can find PLENTY of 8/9t pinions at 48pitch with 2.9 diameters... but that won't work for the clod axle with all RC4WD upgrade internals i don't think. need the 32 pitch.

I should be getting my bolt in outrunners any day now. 1/8th shaft, 25mm bolt pattern, enough power for an unlimited class shafty. No worries and plenty of power. Can you wait a bit for it? I emailed the importer to get a timeframe 30 seconds ago.

They are useing brass tubing. I don't know what size though. This guy at the LHS showed me one. It had a spot cut out for the set screw to clamp in the shaft not the brass.

thank you both......

JRB i'm CERTAINLY willing to wait... any idea where the pricing will be at?

(i'll need 2 ) one for each clod axle!

wonder anyone else out there got a brushless/lipo clod going...

oh yeah JRB--- what's the Kv? if you can, you should go for REALLY low KVs like 600-800 or so... that would be AWESOME!!!

i want this thing to go sllllooooooooow.

Since I am a vendor, I will keep the pricing talk and such in PM's and the vendor section once they ship in.

The KV of my motors is right around 1000 Kv. They are meant for 2-3 cell lipo. That will keep them about the same speed as a 55t lathe motor. It will still be slow, about walking speed on 2 cell lipo and 8 tooth pinions with moab size tires. If you want slower find some TTR reductions and use 3 cell lipo.
