Default My Clod part 2

Well a couple of months back I bougth my first stock clod and turned it into a cheap crawler.

I really wanted to build a tuber but thought that it was way more work then I wanted. Then I finally managed to mangle the body enough that it wouldnt stay on anymore. So I decided to go for the tuber. After about 2 nights of bending and welding I had this.

Then add another boring saturday night and you end up with it all tacked together and running.

Then after 3 runs I managed to kill one of the gears in the front housing. I need to pull it apart and weld it all together. Im thinking about skinning it with some alum and then painting it. Not too sure yet. What do you think so far?

You've got a good looking tuber here and I would certainly go with some type of skin and paint. Nice work so far!

Dude, that crawler is huge. It looks great.

Your truck makes that 30 pack look like a half-case (12 pack) in that pic. I almost couldn't believe it when I saw 30 on the top of it.

Yeah it is big, but I wanted it to look somewhat scale. The WB is at about 17", stock clod width. Im kinda wishing that I would of made it about an inch narrower but oh well. I cant wait for the gears to get here so I can go play agian.

It looks pretty scale. What tires are you going to run on it? Are you going to add body panels?

Not 100% on tires yet. I bought some swamp dawgs off of here and if I like the way they look then I might run them.

Panels...Id like to to skin it with some alum paint it but Im lazy. So only time will tell.

Jay, btw, I am running either Pro-line Moab XL's on the Pro-line narrow beadlocks, or my RedRocks on the RC4WD narrow beadlocks this weekend, so you can check them out if you do come join us for the B-Day bash!!

Small update. Made a mount for the battery. Added some seats. Changed my ghetto speed control for a rooster. OMG that made a huge difference. I can climb way slower now. Also changed to 9 tooth pinions and replaced a crappy servo on the rear axle.
