Default Gearing Porblems

On my bigger rig have 40 series moabs with about a 17 WB. I have 55T Lathes. At times I feel like I don't have enough Torque. I am pretty sure my problem is the stock pinons. I just want to make sure that it is my problem. On my 2.2 I have stock pinons and 55T's and I have spun a hex. So that didn't make me positive that my bigger rig needs like a 8/9 pinon set-up. All I need is a little convincing that stock pinons are my Low TQ problem.

Thanks for the help guys.

Go to 8 front and 9 rear or 9 front and 10 rear. Then add a cell or 2!

definatly need 8 or 9 tooth pinions, I run 55 turn lathes, 40 series moabs, 6cell 3300gp battery packs, and 9t pinion with my clod and have plenty of torque and wheel speed.

Yeah right now I run a 6 cell 3800, I just need the pinons. I have adjustable motor mounts sitting on the work bench. Where do you guys think is the best place to buy them at? Tower?

dez i installed the lathes and the engine mounts , thanks for the advice, i put in the esc, again thanks, put 8 front and rear , why do i need different gears? i also feel i'am lacking torque, i have 6 cell sticks 1600, 1800, 3300 mah, what would you guys suggest for power, i also am still waiting for for wheels/tires and chassis to come in , you think those 7.7" fireball tires might be to heavy?

people run different pinions on the clods to help with the rear wheel stall. I personally don't, i haven't tried it but can't see how much 1 tooth difference will make.

I am not nocking it, just haven't tried it. Don't know how well it works. My clod climbs just about anything i put in front of it just have to be easy on the gas to get the rear wheels to start to spin.
