Default Clod Axle Wideners

After finishing my modified Revo wheels and Moab XLs,I installed them onto my crawler. With this wheel offset I found the tires are very close to the suspension control links, cutting my steering ability. So I decided to try to make my own axle wideners. This is what I have made.....Materials needed are...
Traxxas part #5354(2 packs)
1/2" aluminum solid round stock
3/32 spring steel roll pins(6)
6 mm lock nuts (4)
4-40 set screws - 8
Medium Loctite(blue)
Maxx wheel hexes(4)
Total cost $15-$20

Here is Traxxas part #5354 for the Revo.. I needed to modify the 4 #5354.I drilled a 3/32 hole centered on the 6mm threaded end, install the 3/32 roll pin, cut it to length to match the slot on the maxx hex and then installed the max hex onto the shaft over the roll pin.

I made the spacers out of 1/2" solid aluminum rod.The spacers will need to be 11/16" in length. This will give you exactly 1" with the #5354 when installed together.I cut the spacers off the rod with a hacksaw making sure I cut them longer than I needed.I used JIA lathe to cut them down to
11/16",I cut one end down straight, then measured it and then I cut the other end down until the spacer was 11/16".I drilled a hole through the center of the spacer for the #5354 to go through. I then drill a 3/32 hole through the length of the spacer.Installed a 3/32 steel roll pin. This will keep the spacer locked to the clod to maxx adapter so it can't spin and loosen up.

I then used the spacer to mark on the clod to maxx adapter where to drill the hole for the roll pin.Drilled it to 3/32 then to 1/8 so the spacer can be easily installed or removed.I then drilled two holes and tapped them on each spacer for the 4-40 set screws.I then installed the spacer and the #5354 together on the axle and tightened the set screws. This gave me my marks where to file flat spots on the #5354 for my set screws.I removed all the adapters and then reinstalled them with medium loctite.

This is what it looks like with it assembled.

The revo wheels fit onto the 6mm shaft without any mods.
It moved my width from 12" to 14".And I have more clearance for the steering to turn now.
