to get more steering outta the stock clod axles, i shoud cut off the steering stops. But are there, if any, bad effects from doing this? Like the tires hitting any of the suspension components...the chassis is the NN chassis. |

I run the NN, and have had no issues with Red Rocks or Moabs.

it kinda of depends on what tries tour running and what kind of stearing linkage you use. I have narrowed moabs with on axel 4ws and i dont have any issues. Tho before i narrowed the axels i did get some rubbing. you can adjust how far you want it to push tho by setting up where your linkage connects on the servo arm.

dont shva e those tabs off!!!!! with the stock axle, past a certain turning point the stubs will come out of the axle causing problems... some guys in the TXT forum tried this and ended up having to make limiters for the steering. save up some money and get those Thunder Tech axles... those things turn like cazy!!! Just got em installed on my rig... awsome investment... tough too. So dont mess with those stock hubs... your just polishing a turd.

I trimed the stops of the knuckles and the tubes. I have never had a problem with the axles poping out.

Why? Trimming the stops off the knuckles is the oldest trick to gaining a bit more turning on a Clod, Jugg or TXT axles. Sure you can push them too far but 99% of rigs are fine. I did it on my Jugg2 and on the Clod. No issues. You have to do it if you jump up to the CVD's though.... trim stops plus much more of the knuckle and part of the axle tube ends. Best $33 I have spent so far on the CLod. | |
