So you need just a chassis? Do you mean just the center section as far as the mounts for the links and shocks, etc....? Do you have minor hand tools like tin shears and a drill? How about a tap and die set? A Dremel? I built this chassis with 3/32" aluminum sheet that I was able to cut quite easily with tin snips, then drilled the holes, and used the Dremel to spiffy it up. Then I used 1/4" solid aluminum round stock cut to lengths and then drilled the ends out a bit so I could tap them out to fit some 6-32 hardware...these act as the spreaders between sides. All together (since I didn't have to buy any tools), I spent only like $12 on the material and the hardware for the spreaders. Just have to make a design that looks good to you. |

Well I built mine out of scrap aluminium. All I paid for was some threaded rod, and nuts and bolts. I used tin snips, drill press, and a hand file. |
