Default Major Clod Stall?

My buddy's clod has some major clod stall issues, Both front and rear. He is running 35t lathes and 13t pinions would this cause it?

Between the motor and gearing, it might just not have enough torque. He can try 55t motors and lower gearing. That will most likely cure his problem. Next time it happens, see if the steering works when both the front and rear stall.

That's pretty high on gearing, not much torque, he needs to drop the motors to something with more torque and play with pinions. For example, I run 65T Lathes with 8t pinions. I can't imagine running someting with that high of a setting and still being able to crawl very well.

I'm not convinced it's entirely the motors, because I'm running stock clod gearing and motors and I still have a fair amount of torque. What ESC is he running?

A lot more details would help... like:

tire size, electronics and aproximate weight of the rig.

I run 65 lathes and 13 tooth in my 2.2 clod and it works great. If I tried that in my heavy super rig it would suck.

He has ordered some 55t lathes and some 8t pinions so I guess he'll just have to go from there. I know they stall but it seems like his setup now stalls out on easier stuff than it should. Oh yea he's running a Novak SD, Rear wired first then the front, Rockbull chasis, and stock rim and tires for now. Thanks for all the helpfull info.

Yeah the 55t's and the 8t's will make a huge difference.
